The Cube Art Gallery, an initiative with a sincere and fervent view to promote the visual art has had organized numerous highly acclaimed exhibitions, and workshops of international repute in Goa since the last few years. We at Cube endeavor to host art exhibitions and other activities for the visual art, so as to encourage and support contemporary art in the state of Goa. In our attempt for contribution to the field of visual art we now present the works of Querozito De Souza one of Goa’s foremost and acclaimed artist, through an exhibition of exquisite and intimate drawings of ink on paper in an exhibition titled ‘Mask un Mask’. This exhibition showcases a rich oeuvre of the artist’s imagery through drawings in Ink. The works on display skillfully stimulate the creative mind and exceed the ordinary imagination.

Querozito needs no introduction, inspired by his close proximity to nature and his interpretations of life’s drama which reflects in his work. Reading Freud, Jung, Arnheim, Huxley, perpetuated his influences, and has produced substantial work in this body of work on display.

Among the distinguishing features of his art forms are the expressive and intimate connections with nature, life’s sensuous desires, chemistry of man and woman. The human portraiture is a means of investigating the inner angst, despair, fear, and hope.

The black and white palette articulates the imagery, figure’s mark his identity in ‘mask un mask’ with precision and finesse. The liberties in symbolic narrations extends to exploring a language, conjugating with the state of animate sensuality, as he captures definition of the anatomy, the energy continues into intense expressions of sexual and spiritual energies of expressive passion in the decentralized body, which transmutes past and future that transcend towards infinity.
